New Deus Ex is still under development, Jim Sterling states
A few months ago there was a rumor that they wanted to pause the series of Deus Ex after the not particularly exalted results obtained from Deus Ex Mankind Divided, title released last August on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. In the last episode of his podcast, however, Jim Sterling has partially denied these rumors.
There is no definite information on the future of Deus Ex for a while, but this does not seem rosy, as a result of poor sales of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided which would bring Square Enix and Eidos Montreal to pause the project. However, as reported by Jim Sterling in the new episode of his podcast, there are still hopes for a continuation of the work.
As reported by Sterling, his mysterious sources have confirmed that the development of the next chapter in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided continues. The project was started almost simultaneously with Mankind Divided, with the idea of creating a homogeneous trilogy and also develop in parallel, but many developers of the new chapter has been moved to work right on Mankind Divided before its launch to allow the output in a shorter time, which would have led to a slowdown of work on the follow.
The latest information in the possession of Sterling, however, say the sequel to Mankind Divided is still in development, so work on the project would therefore not been interrupted, although at the moment there is no confirmation of any kind about it.
Earlier this year, insiders reported the involvement of Eidos Montreal in the Avengers project of Square-Enix, also the team would be working on a game dedicated to the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, in this case we are talking only about unconfirmed hypothesis.
