There are only a few hours to go before the new Need for Speed is revealed. Electronic Arts will host the game tomorrow, August 14. Although the official name has not yet been formally introduced, the company has let slip that the game will be called Need for Speed Heat.
EA posted the broadcast link through social networks and the name came “hidden” in the page address. You can check out the channel that redirects to the link on YouTube with the highlighted words “reveal trailer” and “NFS Heat”, which means Need for Speed Heat.
The community was already expecting this due to a leak made by an Austrian retailer. Contrary to the fans’ hopes, the next Need For Speed will not be an Underground.
The name Heat suggests that the new Need For Speed will be related to police chases. Other than that, we know nothing more about this new title.
The last game in the franchise was Need for Speed Payback. Although the game has good moments of action, the main criticisms highlight the lack of identity in the title. Overall ratings were lukewarm, with an overall score of 61 on Metacritic.
