Need for Speed 2016 PC Crash fix, Film Grain Filter Solution, Black Screen Troubleshooting, etc

Several months after its release on gaming consoles (Playstation 4 and Xbox One), the new Need for Speed finally arrives on PC. The famous racing game is available since last week, Thursday 17 March. Ghost Games, the studio of Electronic Arts behind its design says that “PC version is the most successful of the game.”

It comprises indeed “all additional content already out since the launch of the game on consoles.” In addition, its developers took advantage of the extra time allotted to them to add some improvements, such as “like a refresh rate to 60Hz lifted and 4K resolution.” Another new support in NFS on PC now includes the manual transmission. It is also compatible with many wheels. However, there are some technical problems in the game like crashing after tutorial, black screen issue, resolution problem, etc. If anyone is facing this issue, then in this guide we will try to list how to solve all this problems in Need for Speed.

7. Input: Keyboard and mouse, or dual analogue gamepad, or compatible steering wheel

Need for Speed 2016 Crash after Tutorial Fix:

If you are on a Windows 8 system along with a dual AMD graphics card setup then you might be facing this issue. So, the only way to resolve this problem is to either update the graphics card driver or else disable Crossfire functionality. For Nvidia graphics card, there is no problem with the game in SLI.

Need for Speed 2016 Film Grain Filter Disabling Solution:

There is an issue of film grain effect in this game which is achieved through a filter. So, incase you dont want it, then you can easily disable this effect. But first it is always recommended to backup your files first and then only proceed. So, to disable Film Filter, go to Documents\Need for Speed\Settings and open PROFILEOPTIONS_profile file with Notepad. After that change the line which says FilmGrain 1 to GstRender.FilmGrain 0. Simply save the file and exit. Now run the game without this effects.

Need for Speed 2016 Black Screen Troubleshooting:

Some gamers have complained about getting a black screen at the start of the game which makes it impossible for players to play Need for Speed 2016 on pc. To solve this issue, players just need to press Alt+Enter keys on their keyboard and then let the whole cinematics to play. Once the game asks to press a button then press Alt+Enter key again to get into Fullscreen mode. The game will again go into black screen, but this time press the button which was asked and then Alt+Enter back into Windowed mode. Once the tutorial gets over, pull up the map and choose PC settings > turn Fullscreen to Off.

Need for Speed 2016 Increase Render Resolution Workaround:

You can always try to increase the games render resolution without affecting the display resolution. To do that right click on Need for Speed in your Origin Library. After that go to Properties and write -Render.ResolutionScale 1.5 or -Render.ResolutionScale 2.0 in the given field box and apply and quit.

Need for Speed 2016 Offline Play:

There is no way to play Need for Speed 2016 offline as the game requires a constant Internet Connection for all game modes.

Need for Speed 2016 Direct Function “HR1” ERROR Solution

Some users have reported that the game is giving an error called “DirectX function “hr1″ failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED” at the loading screen in Need for Speed 2016. To solve this issue, you need to right click on game’s exe file in Origin > choose Game Properties > and tick disable Origin in Game. After that run the file with Administrative rights.
