Monkey King: Hero is Back Launches October 17 in the West on PS4 & PC

Monkey King: Hero is Back was announced in 2017 as an exclusive title for PlayStation 4. The game co-produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Oasis Games was first confirmed for Asia and subsequently announced its localization in the West.

If the project caught your attention, we have good news, because today its launch date for the western region was announced. In addition, it was revealed that the title will not be available exclusively on PlayStation 4.

THQ Nordic, a company that will handle the distribution, confirmed that Monkey King: Hero is Back will release on PlayStation 4 and PC on October 17 in America and Europe. The game will be offered for PlayStation 4 in a physical and digital edition for a price of $39.99 USD.

Also, the launch of a Hero Edition for the console is prepared, which will sell for $64.99 USD. This package will give you access to the base game and its Season Pass, which includes 2 additional stories (Uproar in Heaven and Mind Palace), 2 outfits for the protagonist and various extra objects for your adventure.

THQ Nordic will also launch a physical edition for PC, which will cost $29.99 USD just like the digital one. Below I leave you with the new trailer of the game:

Pre-order of both editions for PlayStation 4 starts today. If you decide to order in advance, keep in mind that you will be rewarded with some rewards, such as a special theme for your console and 2 exclusive game modes: Paradise and Desperation.

The title is based on the movie of the same name that came to theaters in 2015. Monkey King: Hero is Back tells you the story of young Liuer and the monkey king Sun Wukong, who is released from prison after 500 years. As you could see in the trailer, the game focuses on exploration and combat mechanics.

You can play Monkey King: Hero is Back on PlayStation 4 and PC from this October 17.
