Microsoft officially stops manufacturing original Xbox One

Over the weekend we reported that the original Xbox One console had disappeared from several Microsoft online stores. Today, the company confirmed what was obvious: the console ceased production since last summer when it debuted Xbox One S.

The information was shared by Gixel when a spokesman for Microsoft commented that “as is typical for the console industry, we stopped manufacturing the original Xbox One when we introduced Xbox One S”

Although the model is no longer manufactured, it is likely that the latest pieces are still available in stores or the Internet. Once these units come to an end, there will be no more shelves.

The first Xbox One debuted on November 22, 2013, at an absurd price of $499 USD. At that time Don Mattrick was in charge of the division of Xbox, so it includes a Kinect “necessary” to give orders to the console and to watch television; some myths indicate that it also worked to play, but we are not so sure about it. In the end, with the arrival of Phil Spencer, Kinect went to a better life, and now the original Xbox One accompanies him in the afterlife.

So, the Xbox One S is the standard Microsoft console. In addition to being smaller, it has HDR support and 4K video. During fall and winter, we will see new models and packages, such as the Minecraft edition and the bundle that includes Shadow of War.

However, the strongest card of Microsoft for this year end is Xbox One X. The console will debut on November 7 for $ 499 USD and will have the ability to run games in 4K. The company announced that more than 100 games will harness the power of this system.
