Microsoft Confirms They Will Not Abandon Age of Mythology

For years, the return of Age of Empires, either with new editions of known titles or with the expected Age of Empires IV, ignited the expectation of the fans and also generated questions about Age of Mythology. Well, it seems that this saga has not been forgotten by Microsoft and there are plans regarding it.

Recently, a report by Eurogamer revealed the statements made in an interview with Adam Isgreen, creative director of Microsoft’s Age of Empires franchise, in which he hinted that Age of Mythology is also considered within the company’s future plans.

In this sense, the creative said that a possible new title could come after the work is completed around the main titles of the franchise, so we are still far from the return of the mythological variant of the strategy game: “It’s great to see how much love there is for Age of Mythology, ’cause I love it too – it’s more of a… less accurate history. It’s super loose, people just have fun, and I love that too.”

“So we’re going to be doing a patch for Age of Mythology [Extended Edition] really soon, because there are some exploits and some things out there that we know players would love us to get rid of, so we’re going to be doing that. After we get through the Definitive Editions for the three here, and 4 is kind of rolling, then we’re going to look back and see what we can do with Myth. Because I love Myth, we’re not going to leave it behind, we’ll figure out what to do with it then.”

As we have informed you, Age of Empires fans are waiting for the arrival of the remasters of the second and third installment, as well as Age of Empires IV, a title that we will learn more about soon.
