RUMOR: Microsoft Making 4K Webcams Compatible with Xbox One

It is believed that the device will allow you to log in with your face.

It’s no secret that behind the scenes, Microsoft is working on new technology products. However, what may surprise some more than one is knowing that, according to recent rumors, one of its next projects is a new 4K webcam that will be compatible with Xbox One.

According to information from Thurrot, Microsoft is working on several models of 4K webcams. The plan is that these devices have integration with Windows Hello, facial recognition and fingerprint function to login. It is expected that at least one of them will be compatible with Xbox One. Thus, users of the gaming console could use it to use their face to enter their account.

Remember that since last year the Xbox One console is compatible with USB cameras. These types of devices do not work as a substitute for Kinect; however, they can be used with applications such as Skype and Mixer. That is, if this device turns out to be real, then players could use it to log in; show their face on live broadcasts or have video calls. All the above with 4K quality.

It is important to note that, so far, Microsoft has not made any comment about it. So, although it comes from a good source, it is better to take it for what it is as a rumor. That said, your opinion interests us, so tell us, would you like Microsoft to launch such a device? Would you buy it? Tell us in the comments below.

It should be mentioned that this is not the only rumor related to Xbox that has circulated in recent weeks. What we mean is that a new line of code in the Steam Beta seems to indicate that cross-play between Xbox and the Valve platform could become more common. On the other hand, it is believed that a new Xbox One S without disk drive is on the way. To finish, we tell you that reports suggest that the next Xbox console will be offered in 2 versions.
