After just five days from the launch of Metro Exodus, the software protection system implemented by Deep Silver to protect the PC version of the 4A Games post-apocalypse shooter, Denuvo 5.6 DRM, officially falls under the blows of hackers.
According to reports, in fact, the anti-tamper system integrated into the PC version of Metro Exodus has been violated and the issue affects both those who bought the FPS blockbuster on Epic Games Store and those who had time to pre-order on Steam before its distancing from Valve’s digital platform.
The Austrian company specialized in the creation of anti-tampering systems of software and gaming applications had worked to develop a new and updated version of the Denuvo DRM to avoid the recurrence of situations such as that occurred at the launch of Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown and, above all, of Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Never as in this case, given the resentment nourished by the community for the exclusivity of the title on Epic Games Store, the news of the fall of the copy protection system of Metro Exodus could cause a cascade effect on future sales of the shooter of 4A Games on the PC environment, despite the reception reserved for the title in the days immediately following its publication was able to comply with the predictions of Deep Silver.
Metro Exodus is available from February 15 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
