Media Create: PS4 Dominates Sales Of The Week in Japan
After several weeks of enjoying a stay at the top of the console market in Japan, Nintendo Switch had to settle for second place, since, according to Media Create, PS4 dominated weekly sales in Japan.
According to the figures of Media Create, between January 22 and 28, 110,023 PS4 units were sold, while 30,122 units of PlayStation 4 Pro were sold. Thus, the PlayStation 4 consoles family added 140,145 consoles sold during the last week.
As you can imagine, one of the reasons why the sales of PlayStation 4 increased was the launch of Monster Hunter World, a title that sold 1,245,169 copies during its first days in the market.
During this same period of time 47,107 units of Switch was sold, so, while Nintendo dispatched more hybrid consoles than last week (43,027), in fact, it was far from reaching the sales of the Sony console.
