2K has come up with the news that Mafia 3 will be released this year on October 7. The third part of the franchise focuses on the New Bordeaux in 1968, with the Vietnam War and racism playing a major role. New Bordeaux is a New Orleans-based city, which even has such a colorful background. The game will be released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

In Mafia 3 you will play as Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam veteran who is an orphan. His friends, whom he regards as family, is in fact firmly addressed by the Italian mafia. Lincoln has every reason to start his own mafia gang and to take revenge as well. For this, you will get help from a familiar and some new, but not innocent types.

The Mafia 3 release is now also available for pre-order, whereby you buy the Family Kick-Back bundle. This content will consist of three exclusive vehicles and weapons. It also allows you to cruise around in the world, which is completely open in contrast to the second part.

Mafia 3 will also appear in a Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s Edition. Compared to the Standard output, the Deluxe version gets “access to additional downloadable content after the release, including the Season Pass with additional savings”. The Limited Collector’s Edition should open with numerous physical and digital formats with “a window in the sights and sounds of New Bordeaux 1968”. It contains all the contents of the Deluxe Edition plus the original soundtrack on Vinyl, a collection of Artbook, Art Covers and more.

On this occasion, the US publisher releases a new trailer, the one based on history, allowing us to learn more about the motivations of our hero, Lincoln Clay, who seems to take revenge on dark matter. The events will take place in the 1968 years in New Bordeaux, which is none other than the fictional town of the game strongly inspired by New Orleans.

From October 7, the city will be at your feet.
