Kojima: Death Stranding on Jupiter thanks to Guerrilla Games and Decima Engine

Those who have followed over the years the work of Hideo Kojima, will be well aware of the very eccentric nature, as well as creative and imaginative game director of the Japanese. A further eveidence we had today: through his Twitter account, Kojima has compared his working relationship with Guerrilla to a journey into space.

“The space development competition has been stagnated after the Cold War. Due to the steep rise in price of space development cost, the investment for the earth has been strengthened and they gave up on the space shuttle program. Meanwhile I who wants to proceed myself to the moon, met the guerrilla whose plan was to go to the mars. We decided to make the rocket by reforming their engine. And by doing so it enables us to go to the mars but even to the jupiter,” the summary of tweets published by Kojima on his profile. Later, the game director also retraced the past months with Mark Cerny looking for the right technology to create Death Stranding; then return to speak in the future, saying “funny enough though I had no fear for the unseen goal but had excitement & hope.”

Although his speech is just a metaphor, it is very clear reference to the development of Death Stranding and use of Decima, the engine supplied to him by Guerrilla Games. Certainly we can not say that Kojima is a little ambitious person, and definitely unique and unconventional.
