Insomniac Games wants to bring Sunset Overdrive to PC
Insomniac Games, the developement studio for Sunset Overdrive, wants to bring its colorful action game to PC; however, it seems that this decision is not in their hands.
Insomniac Games, the developement studio of Sunset Overdrive, has indicated its willingness to bring the game even on PC.
Yesterday, a fan asked the game developers on Twitter if there was any chance of seeing this title on PC. “We’d love it if it could happen but [the] ball is in Xbox’s court on it,” said Insomniac. Later, another follower asked the same question and the company reaffirmed: “We’d love for it to come to PC, though it’s up to Xbox on that one.”
Sunset Overdrive debuted for Xbox One in October 2014, supposedly, at that time Microsoft allowed Insomniac to retain the rights to the franchise in exchange for the game to be unique to its console. That explains why, despite having the right to make sequels, the studio can not take the first title to other platforms.
Currently, Insomniac is working on 3 games for Oculus Rift, ie Edge of Nowhere, The Unspoken and Feral Rites; but also on the new Spider-Man for PlayStation 4.
