In a message posted on the NeoGAF forums, Frank O’Connor of 343 Industries has praised the qualities of Xbox Scorpio, assuming the console is more powerful than he had expected.

Frank O’Connor of 343 Industries recently said on the NeoGAF forum that Project Scorpio, the new home console of Microsoft due to be launched later this year, will be more powerful than he expected, but obviously can not provide further details about the same.

“Haha, although I probably “know” in that I might have seen it in a slide or something, it’s literally not something I have time to think about now and I actually couldn’t remember whatever specs I’ve been exposed to even if I was tortured. I literally couldn’t leak or answer a question that went beyond “Can I do this? Does it support that? How many of these could it render?” What I do remember is that it’s beefier than I expected,” were the words of Frank.

At the moment we know that the new console will be able to generate 6 TFLOPS, ship with a 8 core CPU and will offer a memory bandwidth of 320 GB/s, all to ensure a gaming experience in 4K native, support of VR and backward compatibility with Xbox One.

O’Connor unfortunately could not reveal other details, but said he was impressed by the power of Scorpio, thanks to the potential of the console that will be able to develop even richer and complex games not only in technical terms but also with regard to the gameplay.

Remember that Xbox Scorpio will be released at the end of the year, the official presentation should instead take place at E3 2017. Now we need to wait a few more months to learn more.
