During their visit to the studios of Redmond, Digital Foundry has been able to watch a demonstration of ForzaTech, engine that runs the racing game of Turn 10 and Playground Games, on the new hardware of Project Scorpio. The result is a port of Forza Motorsport running in 4K native at 60fps.

Digital Foundry today unveiled the technical specifications of the new Microsoft console, the Project Scorpio, and of course, conducted some tests with games, to be able to analyze the performance of the machine.

Rumors surfaced earlier this week suggesting that we could see some long-awaited gameplay title like Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Forza Motorsport 7.

Unfortunately none of these rumors were confirmed, Digital Foundry tested the Xbox Scorpio with Forza, however, it was a Tech Demo developed in the game engine of Forza Motorsport 6.

As for the performance achieved under these conditions, the Microsoft console seems to be able to deliver on the promises made when it comes to reaching the 4k native, at least in the 1st party games.

Even more surprising is the use of the GPU, which as you can see from the photo attached above to the news that does not even reach 70%.

This information was recorded on the Nürburgring with the maximum number of cars present on the display screen and asset with 4K resolution: a real stress test for the graphics engine.

In addition, Chris Tector, software architect at Turn 10 Studios, said that the result was achieved in just two days. The speed with which such benefits have been reached will allow the team to focus more on the visual quality of their next title.
