For Honor will not support split screen
Ubisoft has announced that For Honor eventually will not have split screen multiplayer, as confirmed by Stephane Cardin, its producer.
Ubisoft has announced that, contrary to what was initially expected, its new title For Honor will not support split-screen and that the feature has been completely discarded. Here’s how the producer Stephane Cardin commented:
“We decided this week to cut the split-screen,” Cardin said in a recent interview. “It was a feature that we loved, but, when we looked at what needs to be done to support online co-op, for us it was critical to make a decision now so we can polish all the features at the AAA level and make sure that we have the most amazing experience.”
“The For Honor team made the difficult decision to cut split-screen co-op in order to deliver the best experience at launch,” he said. Interestingly, at E3 2015, Jason VandenBerghe, creative director, said the split screen would be a key feature of the game and that was something “super-required”.
For Honor will focus on fighting between warriors with different weapons (axes, swords, shields, etc) and fighting styles from Vikings, medieval knights and even samurai.
For Honor’s release is scheduled for February 14 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
