Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer and Avatar System will be connected

During an interview with Polygon, the game director Hajime Tabata spoke about the future of Final Fantasy XV, declaring that the multiplayer component of the game and the Avatar System will be connected.

In an interview with Polygon, the game director Hajime Tabata gave new information on the multiplayer of Final Fantasy XV, which is part of the long-term plan of the game that is going to expand with updates and DLC and improvement.

“There are a lot of things I can’t really say about the multiplayer future just yet, but it will tie into the game — the main game — at some point in the story. And for the multiplayer feature, we are less focused on playing as the four main characters but rather as an avatar that the user creates themselves. So rather than having you and your friends play as these four guys and experience their journey again together, it’s more about the journey that you and your friends have together with each other in this world,” says Hajime Tabata.

The multiplayer mode will therefore not include the game’s history, but will take place during a certain time in the game’s history. A popular theory says that a possible time would be between chapters 13 and 14.

Recall that the director of Final Fantasy XV, during the same interview, expressed his enthusiasm for the features of Nintendo Switch

Final Fantasy XV has been available for the PlayStation 4 since 29 November last year. The first of the three story DLCs, called Episode Gladio, will be released on March 28th and will be played as Gladiolus. On March 1, the former exclusive game for a King’s Tale will also release for the PS4, which is a 2D Brawler, and that tells the story of King Regis and Cid.
