Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood expansion will release on June 20, 2017
In the frame of Final Fantasy Fan Festival 2016, Naoki Yoshida, director of Final Fantasy XIV, shared new details about Stormblood, the upcoming expansion for the MMORPG that was recently announced at an event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
One of the main innovations is that Stormblood will have new classes and Yoshida talked more about them in the presentation. In Final Fantasy Fan Festival 2016, Yoshida announced to Red Mage, class whose main weapon will be Rapier and will have ranged attacks of red magic and melee attacks with a ability to move fast in the battle field; will not have associated classes, will begin at level 50 and players will be able to get the class without having to advance much in history.
Another important novelty of Stormblood is that players can swim and snorkel in the waters of Final Fantasy XIV. So, now players can draw attractions to the swimsuits they have in their collection equipment of Final Fantasy XIV. It is important to note that not all water bodies are compatible with these new mechanics, but players will know which ones they can use as the character will automatically start swimming when they approach them.
On the other hand, diving is only available in areas of Stormblood, but players can explore with their flying mounts. While these areas will not have battles, there will be NPCs and special quests in these areas.
In the areas of Stormblood there will be new tribes of beasts. Among them are Ananta, a society that lives in the mountains near Ala Mhigo and is made up of women only. These creatures will be experts in magic and in making jewelry.
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood also have new raids. One of them is called Return to Ivalice and will be written by Yasumi Matsuno, writer and director of Final Fantasy Tactics. The other raid will be The Bend of Time: Omega and will be designed for high level players who are looking for a good challenge.
Square Enix will release a Collector’s Edition of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood which will include the game, a cloth map of Eorzea, an artbook and a figure of Zenos. In addition, the package will include a stamp and will come in a special design box.
The Collector’s Edition will also include special content for the game as Syldra’s mount, the Wind-Up Bartz henchman and a weapon for the Red Mages.
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will be available for PlayStation 4 and PC from June 20, 2017 in America, Europe and Japan. The pre-order of the MMORPG will be available from February 24 in all regions.
