A major update for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn arrives today. This is the patch 2.55 arriving simultaneously with Before the Dawn on PC, PS3 and PS4. Here are the details of the press that just reached us in the newsroom.
The grand finale of the main scenario of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn arrives today with the release of Patch 2.55 – Before the Fall – now available for Windows PC, PlayStation3 and PlayStation 4.
In Patch 2.55 Boundaries of Judgment, the most remote defenses of Ishgard, are under attack – succeeding the Heirs of the Seventh Alba muster with the Alliance of Eorzea and now that the survival of the city is hanging by a thread?
A fearless attack takes place at the boundaries of Judgment. The outermost layer of protection has been dissipated, allowing the powerful dragon Vishap to land on the end of the Steps of Faith. Take position at the side of the Knights of the Temple and defend the station against the devastating forces of the Horde!
To emphasize the arrival of Patch 2.55, and the conclusion of the main scenario of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, the Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida, sends a message to the fans and the players.

The dramatic conclusion of the story of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn prepares adventurers to the next stage with the release of the first major expansion of the title, HEAVENSWARD, coming June 23, 2015. Players will have to complete the new story quests “Before the Dawn”, in this Patch 2.55, to gain immediate access to the first quest of Heavensward and leave for the legendary Ishgard since release.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC and will soon arrive on the Mac. A free trial period of 30 days is included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $10.99. FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward will be released globally on June 23, 2015.
