EA Teases New Action-Adventure Game That has Gameplay Elements Never Seen Before

In November 2015, Electronic Arts gave the first details of a project by producer Jade Raymond. According to the information, this title will have a great scope due to its innovations. A year later, we learned that Raymond’s game would be based largely on Grand Theft Auto and that it will go on sale between April 2019 and March 2021.

During the last months, we have not heard about this Raymond project. However, Blake Jorgensen, finance manager of Electronic Arts, recently spoke on the subject. The executive participated this week in the latest edition of UBS Global Technology Conference  and said that Raymond’s title has “a lot of new interesting gameplay that I don’t think anyone’s ever seen before.”

During the event, Jorgensen also spoke about why the company has been so interested in the action titles. As the last example, it put Anthem, the new IP of BioWare.

“Action is clearly the place we’re missing the most, and the reason we’re building Anthem and the new title that Jade Raymond’s team at Motive is building in Montreal. That’s the largest sector in gaming. It’s one we haven’t spent a lot of time in because we were so focused on sports and first-person shooters. We feel like there’s a huge opportunity there,” the executive said.

Finally, Jorgensen clarified that Raymond is working with a team of approximately 100 people. Unfortunately, the member of Electronic Arts did not disclose specific data of this title, so we will have to wait to learn more about it.

In related news, the company along with BioWare are discussing whether Anthem will have loot boxes. Regrettably, Corey Gaspur, chief designer of this title, passed away.
