Pachter Thinks That Detroit: Become Human Will Sell 3 To 4 Million Copies
We are just a few weeks away from the launch of Detroit: Become Human on PS4 and along with the flow of official information, some sales forecasts are also starting to take shape, especially since, despite being an exclusive that has been something to talk about, it is still a niche game.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter spoke with GamingBolt about his expectation of sales for Detroit: Become Human, which is based on the idea that, although it is an exclusive, it has a limited attraction for players for its style of the game and the fact that it is a story for a single player.
In that sense, Pachter said: “I really like Quantic Dream. Their games are, they appeal to a certain type of gamer, they are very much a more niche style of gameplay, they’re single player only, and we’re in this era now where the single player gamer is on one side, and the multiplayer gamer is on the other. And I personally prefer single player games, but… I think we need more people making single player games.”
Later, the analyst of Wedbush Securities revealed his expectation of sale for Detroit: Become Human, which, by the niche to which it belongs, will be below what was registered by other franchises but it will not stop being a positive result: “I’m actually looking forward to Detroit, it looks like it will be a different kind of game. I think Quantic Dream makes very dark, very thoughtful stories, but if you just want escapism, their games won’t be the best ones to play. So I’m a huge fan, and I think it will do super well, but I don’t think it’s doing 15 million units or outselling God of War. 3-4 million units sold, which is good for a PS4 exclusive.”
Detroit: Become Human will debut on May 25 on PS4.
