Death Stranding Is Getting Review Bombed On Metacritic

Death Stranding is about the connection and union of human beings and, paradoxically, it is the video game that is generating more divisions among the players. Either an imposed position or founded on real criticism, the truth is that the title of Hideo Kojima is not leaving anyone indifferent. Today it officially goes on sale on PlayStation 4 and for a few hours, the game is getting review bombed on the well-known Metacritic review aggregator. As you can see for yourselves, at the moment it has a 6.2 average on the part of the users, while the official review of the criticism is still maintained at 83.

“I am a huge fan of Hideo Kojima’s body of work, and it hurts me to say this but Death Stranding is quite possibly one of the most pretentious, narcissistic, and worst videogames ever made,” says one user. To what extent is that criticism true or real? Has that player had time to pass it on? Is what he is saying true? It does not matter. The only thing that transcends right now is the review and the color, negative red, that is associated with it. For weeks, the video game was suffering from criticism from many players and users, who used derogatory labels such as walking simulator to refer to the particular playable proposal of the title.

“I was genuinely excited for this game up until last night. I wanted to believe Kojima had it in him to make another great game. But no. This is legitimately the most disappointing game of all time. What an absolute waste of **** time, energy and resources,” pointed another user. All comments, to a greater or lesser extent, go in that type of address. Many media and experts blame some disappointment on the theme of the game, while others claim that it is a maneuver perfectly orchestrated by internet trolls and players less related to the platform, who have waited patiently for the launch of the game to attack the PlayStation 4 title. This method, known as review bombing, is one of the most used by players and spectators – Disney found it in films such as Captain Marvel and The Last Jedi -, and has led entire companies to claudicate at protests.

In any case, while the video game seems to captivate professionals, Death Stranding is consolidated as the game with the most perfect review on a single platform in 2019, a milestone that is spiced up with the perfect score of Famitsu, the prestigious Japanese magazine (via Gematsu).
