Dark Souls Remastered Will Run At 3200×1800 Resolution on PS4 Pro
The latest issue of Edge magazine reveals some details about Dark Souls Remastered. The remastered version of this classic of FromSoftware will be released on May 25 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, however, the Switch version has been delayed to summer.
The magazine indicates that Dark Souls Remastered will run at a resolution of 3200×1800 pixels and 60 frames per second practically stable on PS4 Pro. As for the textures, some have not been retouched, but others have been changed. There is also a better texture filtering, although it will not have HDR lighting compatibility. At the moment we do not know the maximum resolution of the version of Xbox One X.
According to Bandai Namco producer Atsuo Yoshimura, it has been decided to maintain the feel of the original game. “Our goal was to recreate and provide the original game’s feel and atmosphere on the most recent hardware. As a result, rather than focusing on displaying the game in HDR, we used the original game’s visuals as a base in order to produce what we wanted,” the studio stated in the magazine.
One of the most hated locations in the game was Infested City, and not just because of its poor performance – which seems to be corrected in this version. Yoshimura mentions that they know these problems and the community has been heard to make this confusing place less stressful for the player. It has not been mentioned in what way, but it could change the location of the most annoying enemies, such as those that throw poisonous darts.
It is also confirmed that the jump button can be changed – previously it had been said that it would be with the left stick -. In recent news, the network test of the game was announced that will be carried out from May 11 to 12.
