Simply called as The Climb, the project aims to offer us a climbing experience with the strong sensations palpable. The game, running on the graphics engine CryEngine, is presented in a first trailer shown below, displaying a quality visual rendering.

It is stated that the title will be compatible with Oculus Rift, but also with Oculus Touch, the combination of virtual reality headset and appropriate controllers for the occasion. In parallel, compatibility with the Xbox One is confirmed. For now, no release date has been set for this project.

The Climb invites thrill seekers to experience the very best in terms of extreme sports by making them climb dangerous cliffs without a safety net. “Crytek is renowned for leveraging their CRYENGINE tech to create beautiful, immersive games. Their early VR demos really captured public imagination, and to see their ideas come to life with Rift is incredible and not to be missed. The Climb is a beautiful combination of art and thrill that’s bringing an entirely new level of adventure gaming to Rift.” said Jason Rubin, Oculus Head of Worldwide Studios.
