Civilization VI Won’t Support Cloud Saves on PS4

If you have been playing Sid Meier’s Civilization VI on Nintendo Switch for a while, you probably know that you can use its save game progress between the PC and the hybrid console. Fortunately, this feature will also be available in Civilization VI when it arrives on Xbox One; however, the same cannot be said for PlayStation 4.

The official Twitter account of the game confirmed that the cloud save option of Civilization VI will be available on all platforms, except on PlayStation 4. This means that players will have the opportunity to take their PC game progress to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch or vice versa, but that your civilizations created on PlayStation 4 will have to stay on that console.

At the moment, 2K Games has not explained what is the reason why PlayStation 4 will be out of the cross-save of Civilization VI. The fact that this feature is possible thanks to the servers of 2K Games and that everything is carried out through 2K accounts, makes us think that it is the fault of Sony’s policies, but nothing more is a conjecture.

It is worth mentioning that the Twitter account on this game indicated that the title will lack cross-play on all platforms. So, you should forget about the possibility of playing it with your friends who bought it for other platforms.

Civilization VI is now available for PC and Nintendo Switch, while the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version will release on November 22. And what about you, on which platform do you plan to play Civilization VI? Will you take advantage of cross-play? Tell us in the comments below.
