Cave Story could get a Physical release on Nintendo Switch

Last month, Nicalis revealed that Cave Story, the indie classic that is available on various platforms, is on its way to Nintendo Switch. Now, it seems that the company is hinting that this version of Cave Story will be available in physical format.
During the last month, Nicalis has confirmed that it will bring Cave Story also on Nintendo Switch, and recently the developer has posted on Twitter the concept of a case for the new hybrid console of Nintendo, suggesting a retail edition of the title created by Daisuke Amaya.
This we say as Nicalis has published an image on his Twitter account showing what would be the cover art of the Cave Story for Nintendo Switch accompanied by the phrase: “What if Cave Story had a physical release on Nintendo Switch?”
It is clear that the above does not confirm anything and that it is probably only a way in which Nicalis seeks to attract attention to this title. That said, it should be noted that other releases of the company for Switch (as The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+) will also be available in physical format, so we can not rule out the possibility either.
If you are a fan of this game you should know that this would not be the first time it is available in physical edition. A few years ago, NIS America distributed Cave Story 3D in both formats for Nintendo 3DS.
It is less than a month before the debut of Nintendo Switch, a hybrid platform that will be available in exchange for $299.99 USD.
