Bayonetta 2 Director Leaves PlatinumGames
Just yesterday, we celebrated the announcement of Astral Chain, the new title that PlatinumGames is developing for Nintendo Switch and today the mood has waned among the fans as Yusuke Hashimoto made public his exit from the Japanese studio after being a key piece in the creation of very important titles.
A few moments ago, Yusuke Hashimoto announced through his official Twitter account that last January 31 was his last day as a PlatinumGames employee after spending 13 years in Japanese studio. Although he did not reveal the cause of his departure, Hashimoto took the opportunity to thank all his colleagues and friends of PlatinumGames and highlighted the life experience all that time.
In terms of its participation in the creation of games, the role of Hashimoto in PlatinumGames stands out for its production in Bayonetta and the direction in Bayonetta 2 and Star Fox Zero.
Although PlatinumGames has not said anything about it, a Game Informer report noted that there are rumors that Hashimoto was the director of Bayonetta 3, since neither Platinum nor Nintendo revealed the person who would take over the direction of the game.
In that sense, this could be related to the mention that was made yesterday in the Nintendo Direct regarding the third installment of Bayonetta, where it was assured that the title was following its development process and that soon there would be news about it. Interestingly, one day after that happened, Hashimoto made public his exit from the Japanese studio.
