The PC retail version of Battlefield 1 will not be delivered in North America with a disc. Instead, there is a case with DLC code. Only the console versions of the shooter will get a disc version to stores.
If you live in North America, or you want to get a corresponding retail version of Battlefield 1 for the PC, you should know that this retail version will be included with no disc. Instead, in the case, a code will be included, with the WW1 shooter that can be downloaded via the Internet. Both major distributors, Amazon US and GameStop, list the game by the words “No Disc” and even EA has confirmed that this will be the case for the entire North American continent.
“Here in North America, there will be a PC box version that you can buy in stores that will have a code in the box and no disc,” said an EA official in an interview. “If you buy that same PC box version Internationally, some countries will offer a disc inside.”
The disc versions of Battlefield 1 for the Exclusive Collector’s Edition is one that also contains a collection figure among others, are only reserved for consoles, as reported. Even the Early Enlister PC version of the title alone is sold digitally.
In North America, already the majority of sales of video games are to be handled digitally. For the majority of the players of this distribution channel seems to be perfectly legitimate – only those with slow Internet connections are at a disadvantage. Whether there are such plans for the European area, it is still not yet known.
