Batman: The Telltale Series first episode will launch this Summer

Telltale Games has unveiled the first details of the next series of Batman during a event at SXSW Gaming Expo.
The new series will take place in the modern city of Gotham, but not linked to any adaptation of Batman in comics, film or game. The story will focus on both Bruce Wayne and Batman, with player’s decisions shaping the city with Bruce encountering in days and as Batman encountering the criminals at night.
In a blog post on the company website, the premise reads:
“Each night, Bruce Wayne chooses to change Gotham for the better. The team wants to explore what the consequences are of the player’s actions when decisions made as Bruce have a critical impact on his nightly crusade as Batman, and vice versa. Certain key situations will give the player the decision to approach a scene as Bruce or Batman, with consequences for both sides.”
While Telltale does initially mentions of Robin, Nightwing, etc, the key supporting characters in the series of Batman who are going to participate includes: Alfred Pennyworth, Vicki Vale, James Gordon, and Renee Montoya. The characters will be affected by the “decisions made as Bruce or Batman will affect their paths towards corruption or redemption”.
Telltale remains tight with information on possible villains until it is closer to its release scheduled for mid-year.
The production team has focused on the story and script for more than a year ago, so they were not accompanied visually with the announcement, but the series will have “non-photorealistic interpretation of the universe, enhancing engine and technology to deliver a more seamless living comic book art direction.”
Batman: A Telltale Games Series will release its first episode this summer.
