Although Ubisoft has repeatedly said that the Assassin’s Creed series is going to take a break this year, it does not mean the studio is already at work on a new chapter of the saga. A leak seems to reveal the first image of the next Assassin’s Creed Empire, but we do not know if it is a fake or not.

The screenshot, published by Jeuxvideo, is not exactly a screen of gameplay, but the supposed pause menu. We can see a render depicting a pyramid and options for modifying skills or to craft objects, that are some of the new features of this release.

Although it is an image easy to falsify, the saga has a long history of leaks and this is not the first time the catches appear before its official announcement.

Earlier this year it was said that the codename of the game was Assassin’s Creed Empire, and that it would be set in Egypt.

In addition the title would be a complete renovation of the saga, with a whole new combat system and a progression of own character more towards like a role-playing game, one example would be something similar to The Witcher saga.

With returning of the horses we could also use boats, and it would be developed by the same team of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It could be the beginning of a trilogy starring one character after visiting Rome and Greece.

Assassin’s Creed Empire is expected for 2017, although it could come later if necessary.
