The arrival of Destiny 2 on the Blizzard Launcher (Battle.net) has sparked a lot of curiosity and has pushed many to wonder if in the future other third party publishers can make their appearance on the platform. This question is answered by Blizzard with an FAQ posted on its official website.
Could other Activision games also arrive on Blizzard Launcher? This is the official response of the company: “Our focus in terms of supporting non-Blizzard games is solely around Destiny 2. Aside from potentially evaluating needs or opportunities for future Activision games, we don’t have any short- or long-term plans to support third-party games with Battle.net. It’s important to us to maintain our quality standards for any experience or service we’re putting in front of our players, which represents a big investment of time and effort on our part, so this is not something we’re jumping into lightly.”
At the moment there are no plans for this, with possible (although not confirmed) exceptions for the games of Activision. Call of Duty could exploit the online infrastructure of Blizzard? We’ll find out in the near future for sure.
Bungie and Activision organized a sumptuous event during a live show in Los Angeles, where the first glances on Destiny 2 arose. Many details have been announced. However, we will regret the absence of release date for the PC version.
