Activision Will Open A New Infinity Ward Studio in Poland
While Call of Duty WWII seems to have satisfied many fans of the Sledgehammer shooter, with excellent sales figures almost everywhere, Activision may already be working to prepare the ground for the next game in the series. Activision has revealed that a new branch of the Infinity Ward studio will soon be opened in Poland, which will simply be called with the name of Infinity Ward Poland.
According to the announcement, Infinity Ward Poland will work closely with the main studio in Los Angeles, so most likely we will not see any new game from the Call of Duty series coming out of the European studio. The current Infinity Ward Rendering Engineer, Michal Drobot, will lead the Polish team.
These are the words of Dave Stohl, manager of the firm, about the opening of the new branch: “We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our development capabilities with the opening of Infinity Ward Poland. We’re building a world-class R&D studio that will tap into the creative local game development culture and talent in Poland. This expansion will further solidify our position as one of the most dedicated and accomplished teams in the industry. We look forward to great things to come.”
The latest title of Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was released on November 4, 2016, and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. If all goes according to plan, the studio will produce the Call of Duty chapter of 2019.
What do you think? After the non-thrilling Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, could the Polish studio revitalize a new Call of Duty set in the “futuristic” times?
