Xbox’s original controller “The Duke” will be available in stores soon
Throughout history, there have been controllers that are remembered for the wrong reasons and one of them is the first Xbox. Months ago, Hyperkin revealed its plans to bring its design back to create a controller that works on Xbox One and Windows 10. If that news got you excited, you will be glad to know that Microsoft has already approved the controller.
Through his Twitter account, Seamus Blackley, one of the designers of the original Xbox version of the controller known as The Duke, revealed that Microsoft approved the final prototype of Hyperkin’s product. This means that it is ready to be manufactured and then produced.
Along with this news, Blackley shared an image that shows how the final version of the new Duke will appear. As you will see, it retains the infamous design of the original Xbox controller but features some improvements, such as a removable 2.7-meter cable and a LED display at the center.
It is important to note that, for now, Hyperkin has not revealed how much The Duke will cost. What is a fact is that the company expects it to reach stores before the end of the year. Will you buy The Duke when it becomes available? What do you think about the return of this controller?
“The Duke” controller is scheduled to debut this year and thanks to it you will have the option to enjoy titles such as Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fusion Frenzy on current generation hardware.
