Watch Dogs 2 Announced with DirectX 12 Support, Highly Optimized for AMD

It is not a secret that Watch Dogs 2 is indeed in development. Following the first installment of the game, the next album will take place in San Francisco and will likely to be developed for current-gen consoles of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as PC. In E3 2016, we will certainly have the opportunity to see the game appear on stage in Los Angeles.

The PC version of Watch Dogs 2 is apparently optimized for AMD graphics cards, as a spokesman for the company announced via Twitter. Also, DX12 support will be there.

A little information concerning the game relayed by Roy Taylor was given via his Twitter account following an article of TheCountryCaller. Watch Dogs 2 would benefit from a special treatment. This information follows the participation of the French publisher to the recent AMD conference during the GDC 2016.

“Ubisoft took this opportunity to take the stage and officially confirm the existence of Watch Dogs 2, revealing that the sequel to the 2014’s open-world third-person stealth shooter is going to feature support for DirectX 12.”

Watchdogs 2 is “highly optimized for AMD cards”, as it is stated in one of the graphics presented by Taylor. So the game is obviously on AMD Gaming Evolved. It is further supported by Microsoft DirectX 12 graphics interface. Specific details on how the open-world action game benefits from the cooperation with AMD and use of DX12 features are still unknown. Also, Ubisoft itself has not commented so far on this. The information on Watch Dogs 2 have so far been scarce. The game will appear even before March 2017.
