During the event to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Final Fantasy, Square Enix has not announced new episodes of the series but this does not mean that the studios of the company are not working on new projects related to the franchise, as confirmed by the brand manager Shinji Hashimoto.
On the pages of Famitsu, Hashimoto reiterates that the ceremony for the thirtieth anniversary has represented only the beginning of a new path. The aim was to pay homage to the series with a ceremony in style, many new projects (games, but not only) are in the works and will be revealed in due course.
“Of course there are new titles in production. This event was a ceremony to raise the curtain on the 30th anniversary, in other words an ‘opening ceremony.’ We’re preparing various projects from hereon. We’re preparing some announcements— and not just limited to home games,” Hashimoto said.
Finally, Hashimoto confirms that at the moment there is no news to be reported concerning Final Fantasy VII remake.
