Rumor: Rockstar wants Red Dead Redemption 2 to have cross-play support

The fact that titles like Minecraft and Rocket League are going to present cross-play between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC is exciting, and certainly many fans want the option to be extended to other titles and platforms. Apparently, players are not the only ones who want this, since new rumors suggest that Rockstar is fighting for Red Dead Redemption 2 to have cross-play support.

According to information from Liam Robertson, WWG researcher, he has revealed that multiple sources close to Rockstar have informed him that Rockstar wants Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to have cross-play support. Robertson claims that it is the same source that has leaked the correct information related to this title.

Unfortunately, there is no information on how talks are going on this topic, so it is difficult to know if it will come true. Of course, if we are guided by Sony’s position on this feature, it is very likely that the alleged efforts of Rockstar will not bear fruition.

It is worth remembering that you must take the above reports as a mere rumor. While there is a possibility that Rockstar wants to implement cross-play to Red Dead Redemption 2, in fact everything points to it will be difficult for it to happen. So, we recommend that for now you wait for an official source to make an announcement about it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to debut before the end of spring 2018.

And what about you, do you think Rockstar is the company that can persuade Sony to implement cross-play? Tell us in the comments below.
