Although Pikmin 4 was announced in September 2015, so far it has not been heard much about this title; however, the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto recently said that Nintendo has not forgotten the game, and provided more information about the title to fans of the franchise.
It’s been about a year since Nintendo has confirmed to be working on Pikmin 4, following the excellent third chapter released on Wii U.
In a recent interview, Miyamoto confirmed that Pikmin 4 is still in development. But he also talked about how difficult it has been to give priority to that title with other larger projects in door; an example of this might be The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or even the NX console.
“You know, when we’re in development we have to create a list of priorities and it has been hard to kind of fit [Pikmin 4] into that list. But we’re hopefully starting to see that on the list now,” said Miyamoto in conversation with the website GameRant.
The funny thing is that last year, when the game was announced, it was the same wherein Miyamoto confirmed that Pikmin 4 was already nearing completion in terms of development. The last game of the series, Pikmin 3, debuted on Wii U in 2013, while Pikmin 2 reached GameCube in 2004.
It should be noted that until Nintendo does not make an official announcement, the chances are that Pikmin 4 could reach Wii U, 3DS, or even Nintendo NX console that is going to be released in March 2017.
