More Killzone games might happen, says director of Guerrilla

If you’re a fan of the Killzone series and want more games, there is good news, as the director of Guerrilla Games, Hermen Hulst, said that although the franchise had a closed end of Shadow Fall in 2013, the door remains open for more games in the future.

“Killzone is very key and very core to Guerrilla,” said Hulst in an interview to Game Informer in the latest issue of the publication. “We have a lot of love for the franchise. In a way it’s conclusive, but at the same time we’ll leave everything open for the future. Who am I to say we’ll never do anything? There’s too much in it to ever make any kind of definite statements on the future of Killzone.”

If we remember, we must remember that this is not the first time Guerilla Games talks about the future of Killzone. A year ago, Hulst said it was “too early” to talk about the upcoming games of the series, because the studio is busy working on Horizon: Zero Dawn.

“We love that franchise, we really do. But it’s too early for me to comment on future projects,” said Hulst in July 2015. “It’s going to be a very big challenge for us to get [Horizon: Zero Dawn] out the door. And as for what’s going to happen after that? We’ll talk about that later.”

The first Killzone game was released in 2004 for PS2, and from then on, new Killzone came out every two years, reaching all platforms from Sony in the following years, with games for PlayStation 3, PSP, PS Vita and PS4.

So fans of Guerrilla Games have to wait for the moment, as the arrival of Horizon: Zero Dawn, a action title with RPG is imminent and that will debut in February 2017 for PlayStation 4.
