Hideo Kojima, head of Death Stranding, shared the main goals achieved throughout the development of his studio, Kojima Productions, and his new game.
“In January 2016, DEATH STRANDING only existed in my brain, now it became to real and was able to announce the release day, thanks to everyone at Guerilla Games,” said Kojima on his official Twitter account. “They kindly offer their engine that worth as their life. I never forget that strand.”
After thanking Guerrilla Games, Kojima talked about the great goals he achieved after leaving Konami.
In addition to confirming that the motion capture of stars like Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen were already made and ready in the first half of 2016, Kojima reveals that the engine chosen to develop the game was only selected in the autumn of 2016 – less than three years ago.
Kojima also shared photos of events and some with Reedus, Mikkelsen and Guillermo Del Toro, with whom he was collaborating in Silent Hills, a game canceled by Kojami.

In addition, as you know, Kojima left Konami a few years ago and without Kojima Productions, the Metal Gear franchise and the FOX Engine, the game designer had to start the production of Death Stranding from scratch but, as Kojima himself says, talking about the reception for the game, “I didn’t lose anything by looking at everyone’s reactions. Thanks again.”
