As promised, Microsoft and The Coalition have released the technical trial version for Gears 5.
The technical test of the PC has a size of 14.5GB, has an easy anti-cheat feature on the PC, and is currently available for members of the Xbox Game Pass or for those who have pre-ordered the game.
The technical test will include a development version of Gears 5 to test servers, features and more. This closed beta phase (which is what this technical test really is) will have three modes: Arcade, Escalation, King of the Hill. In addition, you will have two maps (District and Training camps) and both Bootcamp and Tours of Duty will be available for players to experience.
Gears 5 will support cross-play between Xbox One and PC, players will be able to queue with friends (although some modes will have limited party sizes) and Tours of Duty will have challenges to bring rewards to the full game.
This first technical test will begin on July 19 (10 am PDT) and last until July 22 (10 am PDT). Microsoft also plans to launch a second technical test on July 26. Check the technical test video of the game below.
It's happening! The #Gears5 Versus Tech Test is now available for pre-download.
