It is impossible to deny that, thanks to its Battle Royale mode, Fortnite is one of the most popular games of the moment. This is why you will not be surprised to learn that its user base is still growing and that last week it broke its own record of concurrent users.
We know this because, through a publication on its blog, Epic Games announced that on Sunday, February 4, Fortnite reached the mark of 3.4 million concurrent users. Its previous record was at a peak of 2 million simultaneous players in mid-January.
As a point of comparison, the maximum number of concurrent users that PUBG has achieved is 3,106,358. Of course, it is important to note that this figure only seems to take into account the players of the Battle Royale on Steam, while the Fortnite brand seems to consider people playing on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
A curious detail is that Fortnite did not reach this figure without encountering problems. What we mean is that this constant and unexpected expansion caused connection errors, so Epic Games is looking for staff to prevent this situation from happening again.
In other news, the director of Epic Games recently revealed that he would like to see Fortnite on Nintendo Switch; the bad thing is that nothing seems to indicate that it is in development. On the other hand, the success of this launch compromised the future of Paragon, a title that will soon cease to exist.
And what about you, are you one of the millions of people playing Fortnite? What is your favorite mode? Tell us in the comments below.
