Flashbulb Games Dev: Microsoft Is Looking to Buy New “Timed and Full On” Exclusive Games for Xbox

There seems to be a lot of excitement in the Xbox division of Microsoft: in addition to the alleged leak on the upcoming titles (including Fable, Forza Horizon 4, Halo 6 and Perfect Dark) it seems that the Redmond house is trying to buy new exclusives valuing between independent titles and AAA games from small and large third-party publishers.

This was revealed by a member of the Danish development studio of Flashbulb Games, who stated the following on the ResetERA forum: “Without going into too much detail, I know for sure that Microsoft have got their cheque book out and are actively seeking out both smaller and larger titles they can get as an Xbox exclusive, both timed and full on.”

It seems therefore that, in addition to the development efforts with internal studios, Microsoft is also trying to flesh out the exclusive Xbox line-up with a series of third-party titles, both indie and Triple-A games.

This is not a new practice for the Redmond house as we remember that exclusive titles such as Ryse, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dead Rising 3 and 4, Ori and the Blind Forest and even Cuphead were not first parties and made possible thanks to the “checkbook” from Microsoft.

At the moment we invite you to take what has been reported with due precautions, waiting to find out more about the line-up scheduled for the second part of the year and for 2019.
