Sumo Digital has confirmed that the team is still working on Dead Island 2, and then the game has not been canceled, although it disappeared from the scene for some time now. The software company, as revealed in a job posting, is working full time on Crackdown 3 and Dead Island 2, thus confirming that the game continues in development.
More than a year has passed since the Dead Island 2 soap opera came to an end. Finally, after Yager’s departure from the project, Sumo Digital became the studio in charge of developing the much awaited game that will be distributed by Deep Silver.
However, after a long season without knowing details about the state of its development, Sumo Digital has taken advantage of the recent publication of new job listing in the studio to confirm that they are still working on Dead Island 2, which undoubtedly is big news for fans of Dead Island after several months without any news about the project.
But that’s not all, and Sumo Digital, who has already participated in other big titles such as LittleBigPlanet and Disney Infinity, has taken the opportunity to comment that they are also working on Crackdown 3 and several projects that have not yet been announced.
The truth is that the studio has not given concrete details on how advanced is the development of Dead Island 2, but it would not be unreasonable to think that we could know much about it in the next E3 2017.
